What are Chakras?
There are seven main chakras, these are the ones I'll be focusing on in this post. The word chakra derives from the Sanskrit word carati meaning they move, wander. The chakras are the energy points on your body that flow to one another throughout your body, like a stream. When a chakra gets blocked it makes it harder for this energy to flow to the other chakras. A block can be a physical, emotional, and/or situational issue in your life. If all of your chakras are open, not blocked, that means your energy is balanced.

Unblocking Chakras
There are a variety of ways to unblock chakras. Sometimes you may have to do a wide variety of methods and other times it could just be very simple. Meditations, whether guided or just focused on that chakra, can be quite useful and one of the simpler methods. You can add mudras to your meditation as well. Each chakra has an accompanying mudra, these can help to amplify your meditation. My personal favorite way to help unblock chakras is to have a yoga flow dedicated to whichever area you're working on. These tend to include poses that stretch, strengthen, and focus on that specific area of your body and mind.
There are also mantras. With a mantra you can focus on what your intentions are for your practice. The benefit of mantras is that you can repeat them in your head throughout the day without having to stop what you're doing. Lastly, you can use crystals in correlation to the chakra that you are trying to unblock. Each chakra has one or more crystal that correlates to it and then there are some crystals that are more generalized. Some people wear these crystals as jewelry.
