An afternoon photoshoot with a Friend
I ran into a friend of mine the other day, let’s call her T, T was bored without any other obligations left for the day and I wanted to get some photos taken outside for the blog. So I asked if she would be up for helping me out and she was! We left our stuff with some trusted friends and left for our mini adventure.
Wandering around outside we found some cool buildings, grass, trees, and good lighting. I took my sweatshirt off and we got started. T was taking a bunch of pictures while I was trying to figure out what poses to do. It felt a bit awkward at times, because people were walking to and fro. I was feeling a bit self conscious about my body, but we kept taking pictures, hopefully at least one or two good ones haha!
Usually I just take my own pictures. I prop my phone up and set it to video. Pressing record, I back up, making sure I’m in frame and do a series of poses in a flow. This helps me to capture pictures, but sometimes I don’t realize if I got out of frame or if my phone slipped into a different angle than I wanted it to be in. This is why having a friend take pictures of me every once in a while is really helpful.
I love photography and learning about it, but it can be hard to make sure you have a big clunky camera case, a tripod, and a good place for pictures, all when you actually want to be doing yoga and not stressing out about if the battery is charged or not (my camera’s battery takes a lot longer to charge than my phone). All of those aforementioned reasons are why I usually just use my phone for my pictures as opposed to my camera. Perhaps, I will eventually get into a better habit of taking more pictures of me doing yoga with my camera, who knows, cause I most certainly don’t.
